Garden Fencing

The right garden fencing can finish your garden off perfectly and if you live around Edinburgh then we can help.

It might give you the privacy you have been after. Perhaps you need to keep certain little people safe or maybe you just want a bit more definition around your border.

Whatever your reasons we can build you a fence that will stand the test of time, be in keeping with your surroundings and fit your budget.

Garden Fencing Styles

As mentioned we work on a range of fencing styles to suit any garden and budget.

Panel Fencing

The low cost approach is panel fencing. These pressure treated panels are made of softwood but are susceptible to high winds reducing their lifespan. The panels are available in a range of sizes from 1 – 2 metres in height and are well supported by 10cm posts.

If you’re looking for panels, here are some good examples;

Overlap Fencing

These fences are build in such a way as to withstand the harshest of winter winds. The high quality wood for the fence posts and panels and solid foundations we always create will ensure your fencing is still standing many years from now.

Ranch Style

With its vertical slats and alternate spacing again makes this a cost effective approach to fencing. It looks great and provides great protection. However this style of fencing is far easier to climb on. So if you are looking for a way to keep them in then this might not be the best option.

April Gardening Hints and Tips

April is a fantastic month in the garden as we emerge from the depths of winter. Everything is starting to grow and show a bit of life again. Here are some top tips on what to focus on this month.

  1. Dig out the trowel and get to work pulling out those weeds
  2. Rake back the moss from the lawn
  3. Give the lawn it’s first real cut of the year and keep it up every two weeks if it warrants it (which it will)
  4. Fix the patches in the lawn with a mix of sand and top soil and encourage the grass to grow through.
  5. There’s still a chance of frost so make sure you are protecting those blossoms.
  6. Time to get sowing in the hardy root vegetables as well as the peas, leeks and spinach.
  7. Get some much needed high-nitrogen fertiliser into your berries; blackberries, blackcurrants etc.
  8. Tie back the climbers amongst you garden, won’t be long before they are sprouting.
  9. Get round the house and ramp up the water you’re giving the indoor plants
  10. Start work on filling those pots with the wonder of summer flowering blubs.
